Living Out of A Suitcase

Living Out of A Suitcase

How many people have experience living out of a suitcase for months on end? If you don’t, then you are not an experienced traveler but if you have than you are an experienced traveler. If one has lived out of their suitcase than it is safe to say they are an experienced traveler since they know the intricacies of how to live life out of a suitcase. For those that have experience living out of a suitcase know that the hardest part is leaving a place after it has treated you so well. In addition, trying to fit everything in suitcase & carrying your belongings to whatever place is next. Many people think that picking what to wear out of a suitcase is a hard thing to do since you have to find it among everything that is packed but for those experience travelers, they know that is the easy part. Another misconception that arises from living out of a suitcase is that one’s belongings are scattered and not organized but that can be far from the truth. Once a person gets accustomed to living out a suitcase, they have learned to organize their suitcase in a manner that they find what they want to wear in a moment’s instance. Lastly, an experienced traveler finds boredom rather agreeable than painful because it shows their liberty-excessive freedom, and they learned that time is the ultimate currency that can never be earned or replaced.

Living out of a suitcase, although not desirable by many, teaches a lot about one’s self. For example, one learns to adapt to their living situation and become efficient with their space sort of like living in high density cities such as New York City, San Francisco or Paris. Traveling is not for everyone, as a matter of fact, it is only for those who have the will to create a change within themselves that are true travelers.  Traveling is brutal because it forces a person to trust complete strangers and to stray away from all the familiarities of home and friends. This reason alone is a huge roadblock for many people since most are frightened by the unknown. Moreover, A person hardly feels balanced because nothing is really theirs, only the universal possessions such as air, sleep, dreams, sky, and sea. As a result, an experienced traveler endures deep and permanent changes within themselves on the ideas of living, which in turn gives them a new and bright perspective on how to live a better life. Living out of a suitcase has its downside but the life changing experience one receives in return far exceeds all that can possibly be seen as negative. Will you try to become an experienced traveler and live out of a suitcase?

“When we get out of the glass bottle of our ego and when we escape like the squirrels in the cage of our personality and get into the forest again, we shall shiver with cold and fright. But things will happen to us so that we don’t know ourselves. Cool, unlying life will rush in.” – D.H. Lawrence
